Assalamu alaikum — we are here to help

Muslim funeral directors serving Birmingham, the West Midlands and the UK

If you are reading this, it is likely that someone close to you has passed away. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un — to Allah we belong and to Him we return. As experienced Muslim funeral directors, our duty is to lift the practical burden from your shoulders so your family can focus on prayer, patience and remembrance.

From the first phone call we take responsibility for everything: collection of your loved one from home, hospital or care home; liaison with the coroner and register office; Ghusl and Kafan performed with dignity; arrangement of the Janazah prayer with your mosque; and a burial conducted swiftly, facing the Qiblah, in a Muslim section of the cemetery. Because we work in association with a registered charity, our Muslim funeral services are grounded in one principle — serving the community for the sake of Allah, not profit.

If a death has just occurred

What to do right now — three simple steps

1

Obtain the medical certificate

If your loved one passed away at home, contact their GP. If in hospital, the bereavement office will issue the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD). If the death was unexpected, the coroner may be involved — we can liaise with them for you.

2

Register the death

Book an appointment at the local register office within five days. You will receive the death certificate and the Certificate for Burial — the green form — which is needed before the burial can take place.

3

Call us — we handle the rest

From collection and Ghusl to the Janazah prayer and burial, we take care of every arrangement. Call 0300 102 1786 at any hour and we will guide you gently through what happens next.

A duty, not a business

Why families choose our Muslim funeral services

Rooted in a registered charity

We are the sister service of Iqbal and Sons Bereavement Services (Charity No. 1197545), which has provided free Islamic funerals to eligible families for years. That ethos runs through everything we do.

Correct Islamic practice

Ghusl, Kafan, Janazah and Dafn carried out precisely according to Islamic teachings, with care taken to respect your family’s madhab and wishes at every stage.

Transparent written estimates

Clear pricing before any commitment, itemised accounts on request, and guidance on the DWP Funeral Expenses Payment and charitable support if money is a worry.

Speed, without compromise

Islam encourages the deceased to be buried without delay. Our experience with hospitals, coroners and cemeteries means burials are often possible within 24 hours of release.

One family, one point of contact

You will not be passed between departments. One compassionate coordinator stays with your family from first call to the final dua at the graveside.

Common questions

Questions families often ask

How quickly can a Muslim burial take place in the UK?

Islamic teaching encourages burial as soon as possible. Once the death is registered and the Certificate for Burial (the green form) has been issued, we can usually arrange burial within 24 hours, subject to cemetery availability. Where the coroner is involved we work to keep any delay to an absolute minimum.

What should I do first when someone dies?

If the death happened at home, contact the GP; if in hospital, the bereavement office will issue the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death. The death must then be registered within five days. You can call us at any point — even before the paperwork — and we will guide you through each step.

Do you provide Ghusl and Kafan facilities?

Yes. Ghusl (ritual washing) and Kafan (shrouding) are performed with complete dignity by trained members of the same gender as the deceased, following the Sunnah. Family members who wish to take part in this final act of love are welcomed and gently guided.

Can you help if we cannot afford the funeral?

Yes. As the sister service of a registered charity, we will never let cost stand between a Muslim and a dignified burial. We help families apply for the DWP Funeral Expenses Payment and connect them with charitable support where needed.

Do you arrange repatriation overseas?

We arrange worldwide repatriation, managing coroner certification, consulate documentation and flight logistics from start to finish. We also explain the full process honestly — including embalming requirements and timescales — so your family can make an informed choice between repatriation and local burial.
